This week’s trip to Saturday lunch

I was supposed to go to my class, but this week’s chemo kind of zapped me, so I told pap & mam we could go to our weekly lunch.  Pap decided to go to Sizzler today.

I ordered salmon from the senior menu for mam.  For that, she gets the salad bar as well.

I accompanied her to the salad bar, I took her around first.  I could tell mam is very overwhelmed when we do this.  After filling up the plate with salad, I asked if she wanted some soup.  Because we were going to get soup, I told her I was going to put the salad plate on our table first.

We went to the soup bar.  She took a bowl, I gave her soup spoon.  She took that spoon and started sticking her hand into the big pot trying to scoop some soup instead of looking for the laddle.

After we got the soup, we proceeded to the table.  She was puzzled at the salad plate that was already set on her table.  “Is that pap’s?”  I said, “no that’s yours”.  She said, “oh, you mean the one that we ordered?”  She just completely forgot she had gone through the salad bar, and didn’t recognized the “pile” of salad that she created 2 minutes ago.

I don’t think Aricept works.  What I have been observing is that her “circle of control” is getting smaller and smaller.
