Today Mam has been rambling about a pair of medicine cabinet. She kept on saying that she had that before and she didn’t know where they went. I guess she’s having one of the episode where she remembered something but didn’t remember the rest of the thing.
She’s been addressing herself ‘tante’ to me so I guess she doesn’t remember her son today. I played along as usual, trying to get her to remember something that she’s trying to tell to me. All I get is a pair of medicine cabinet standing side-by-side about knee high tall. I don’t remember if Mam has something like that in Malang.
She also mentioned that her 2 pairs of shoes (blue and tan) are old shoes and she’s kinda upset that she couldn’t remember when she bought them. I told her that maybe Dede bought them for her. That calmed her down a bit.
I showed her a wedding picture of her and Pap. She didn’t recognize it. She thought they were someone else in the picture.
She mentioned that her tummy hurt, but when I asked her, she said that it wasn’t like diarhea. Later on I asked her again and she said that it’s gone. I’m guess it’s just an indigestion but I want to let Pap know to watch out for things like that. She may not be able to say what she feels for something like that.
I caught her taking the knife to try to smooth her finger nails a couple of times. I offered her to clip her finger nails. She hesitant at first, but I was able to persuade her to let me do that. I clipped her toe nails as well since it looks like they haven’t been clipped for months. Overall, she’s feeling good this week.
I also showed her a more recent picture of Pap & Mam in front of the apt building — the one that sis used for stamps. She said “Oh, who’s this little girl?? I don’t recognize her” — pointing to her own picture. When I asked her who’s the man (Pap) standing next to the woman, she also said she didn’t know.
It is sad…
I clipped her toe nails about a month ago, but didn’t finish because she got a bit angry at me for doing things for her. It’s good that she let you.
